 MMC
The Messenger, The Message and the Community
by Roland Muller
2nd Edition
This book includes large parts of the out-of-print books Honor & Shame and also Tools for Muslim Evangelism, plus much more. Muller begins by looking at what it takes to be accepted as a 'messenger' with something of value to say. He then moves on to look at the gospel message that we share, and ends up examining the community of believers that we want to gather.
This book includes a frank look at shame- based cultures, and also the importance of building a sense of community into a new group of believers. Several chapters have been totally re-edited in this new edition. There are over 300 study questions for thought and discussion.
The Man from Gadara
by Abdalla Hawatmeh
and Roland Muller
304 pages
This is the true story of a man who was born in the small village of Gadara, where long ago, Jesus cast the demons into swine. Growing up in a Muslim home, he often wondered about the religion he and his family practiced. When a scholarship opens the way for him to study in America, this young man renews his search for truth, and God. It is a long road, but God finally brings him to his knees before the cross. Returning to the Middle East, this young man is led by God to start a ministry among the Muslims of his home country.
This book addresses three aspects of Christian ministry among Muslims. First, what happens in the mind of a Muslim when he begins to explore the Bible and the claims of Christ. Second, what sort of persecution and harassmen do Muslims face when they decide to follow Jesus. Third, the long difficult process of gathering like-minded Muslims together, so that they can experience Christian community in a land that is officially Muslim.

 Missionary Leadership
by Motivation and Communication
by Roland Muller
223 pages

In his new book, Roland Muller examines the differences between secular and biblical leadership, focusing in on the two main aspects of leading multi-cultural volunteer teams: motivation and communication.

This book includes a wealth of resources, worksheets, and more. It is illustrated with cartoons drawn by Jon Clime. A must for every missionary leader.

Missions:
The Next Generation
by Roland Muller
94 pages

What will the missionary movement look like in the near future? Muller takes a look at the kind of organization that the next generations are looking for. Are evangelical missionary organizations ready for the next generation? Is it possible to pour new wine into old wineskins?

Roland Muller surveys the younger generations and takes a look at some of the new and radical organizations that are emerging. Will these be the patterns for new missionary organizations, serving a new generation of young people? This book promises you probing questions and challenging answers.

Avoiding the
Tentmaker Trap
Ten traps for tentmakers to avoid plus lots of great advice for those wanting to serve as tentmakers
This book covers the Biblical concept of Tentmaking as practiced by the apostle Paul who was both a tentmaker and a missionary. Subjects include the Biblical basis of Tentmaking and the history of Tentmaking. Along with the basics, Dan Gibson introduces us to the Pauline and Priscillan models of tentmaking as found in the Scriptures. He then examines ten traps that tentmakers commonly fall into and ways and methods that successful tentmakers use to overcome these difficulties. The appendices are now out of date. Dan Gibson plans to update these in the next edition, dur out in 2011. These list over 130 book titles, and over 100 addresses of organizations, job seeker guides, self assessment exercises, films, videos, Web addresses, conferences and trade shows, and more. It comes highly recommended by leading missiologists and tentmakers themselves.
Honor and Shame,
Unlocking the Door
by Roland Muller
121 pages
The original book is out of print. This is a copy of the 2010 second edition. Roland Muller introduces the concepts of guilt, fear and shame based cultures, showing their development over the years, and their influence on our understanding of the gospel message. Muller examines the way we traditionally present the gospel, and the difficulties this poses for those from a shame/honor background. A case study based on the Muslim cultures of the Middle East follows, where he examines Islam in the light of shame and honor. In conclusion Roland Muller presents us with the three-fold message of the gospel which is understandable in whatever cultural setting we may work in. This book is included on this CD-ROM as several colleges have this smaller book on their required reading list.

  Tools for Muslim Evangelism
by Roland Muller
216 pages

This is a copy of the original 1999 version, and is included here for reference. Most of this material is included in MMC above.

Just as every craftsman has his toolbox, evangelists should also have a box of tools ready for use when trying to explain the gospel to Muslims. Roland Muller introduces us to some of the tools and techniques used by successful evangelists in the Middle East.

He also introduces us to the concept of 'teacher based evangelism' and demonstrates how it can be used in conjunction with or in place of friendship evangelism.

This book is rich in resources and practical wisdom drawn from many sources. The appendices include the Discover Lessons by Abdalla H., Literary and Audio-Visual Resources for Christians Sharing with Muslims by Ernest Hahn, excerpts from the digital resource 'Ministry Tools' and more.

The Nabataeans, Builders of Petra
Discover the history of the Arabs before Mohammed brought Islam. A fascinating study. 20 maps and illustrations

Why would we include a book on history and archeology on this CD? Most people do not realize that the prophet Muhammad was a Nabataean, descended from a long line of desert merchants. This book provides a fascinating look at the ancient Nabataean Kingdom! During the time of the Greek and Roman Empires, this small Arabian empire built spectacular cities in the Arabian Desert.

Their ships and camel caravans traveled to far off exotic places to bring luxury goods to European markets. Since they held a monopoly on almost all eastern goods, they slowly raised their prices, until they almost brought the great European Empires to their knees. Flush with cash, they built the incredible city of Petra, hidden away in a mountain ravine. Discover all this and more in this exciting book!

DISCOVERY LESSONS
The Discovery Lessons were intended to be a guide for people sharing the gospel with a Muslim inquirer who has become a seeker, (someone who really wants to know which is right, Christianity or Islam). The philosophy behind the lessons (teacher-based evangelism) is presented in Roland Muller's book MMC. These lesson present only Biblical truth. The first two lessons are Bible studies that go through a passage of scripture. (Genesis 1 - 3) The second two follow a theme through the Bible. (Basic Bible Understanding [Who were the prophets?] and sacrifice) The last two address the Messiah and how we should respond to what the Bible teaches.

Literary and Audio-Visual Resources for Christians sharing with Muslims
This article was originally published in Word & World: Theology for Christian Ministry Volume XVI, Number 2, Spring 1996. Ernest Hahn has had a lifelong relationship with Muslims, both in his long service as a Lutheran missionary in India, and also through the creative Hospitality Ministry in Toronto, which he initiated to serve immigrants and refugees from various religious backgrounds. He continues his active literature work and has authored Jesus in Islam: A Christian View (Hyderabad: Henry Martyn Institute, 1975). While this material may be dated, it provides an excellent bibliography of the material that was available up until 1996. Numerous new publications have become available since then.

Ten Lessons about Jesus from the Old Testament
This is a second set of lessons similar to the Discovery Lessons called: Faith in the Promised One. This course does not replace Discovery, but it offers teachers another, more detailed option to use. It takes longer to go through it; a minimum of ten sittings, but you may decide to increase the number of studies as some of them are quite lengthy. This slow approach can be good for two reasons. Sometimes people are not in a hurry and second, it is often helpful if people spend more time in the Word of God before the truth exposes itself to their hearts. These lessons concentrate on the book of Genesis, as the patriarchal section of the Bible was the original revelation to people living in the Middle East. In addition, most of this material is basically accepted in their paradigm of religion. So, the teacher who designed these lessons prefers to spend more time there and let Christ be revealed through this part of the Word of God.

Muslim Objections and some Responses
Top Questions Asked by Muslims. These are a compilation of the most-asked questions by our Muslim friends. Some are related to culture, some are specifically about Christianity. Most of these come from a total lack of understanding of another culture or religion. Many Muslim have had close to no contact with the "outside" nor with a Christian minority. Along with there, there is censorship on written materials in Arabic, so any understanding of Christians and other cultures comes from the verbal description of a few that pass on their less-than-complete understanding. Most of these are the standard questions Muslims ask: but a few might be very interesting to devote some time to answer on radio.
